March 2016 Updates

Some more good news for March! Two upcoming shows that I will be a part of are “Stormy Weather”, at the Annapolis Maritime Museum in Annapolis, MD, and “Boundaries, Borders, and Thresholds” at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI. I will also be taking part in “The Noun Show- Person, Place or Thing”, during the 53rd Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts from June 24th to June 26th.

February 2016 Updates

¬†2016 is off to a great start with two current shows, the Contemporary South 2016 exhibit at Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Marshall Universities 5th Annual National Juried Exhibition at the Visual Arts Center Gallery in Huntington, West Virginia. I also received an honorable mention from Monmouth Museum’s 37th Annual Juried Exhibition that runs until March 13, 2016 in Lincroft, New Jersey. My work will al be exhibiting in Art Connections 12 at the George Segal Gallery in Montclair, NJ from March 6th to April 9th. I am pleased to announce that I have been selected as a finalist for the Julia Margaret Cameron Award and will be exhibiting in the 4th Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography at the Palazzo Italia in Berlin Germany from October 6 to October 30, 2016. 42 Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper

It is wonderful to be included in the 42 Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. The show is running from May 17, 2014 through June 20, 2014. I just received my copy of the catalog of accepted artworks. It is a lovely publication and I am so pleased to have been included.

LOS ANGELES  May 3, 2014 РProfessional photographer Zel Brook of Corvallis, OR was presented with the 7th Annual Photography Masters Cup Nominee title in the category of Food at a prestigious Nomination & Winners Photoshow webcast Saturday, May 3, 2014.

The live online gala was attended by photography fans around the globe who logged on to see the climax of the industry’s most important event for color photography. This art work will be published in the Journal, a digital magazine featuring curated collections of award winning photography. The nominees issue will be released in July.

7th Annual Jury members included captains of the industry from Contrasto, Rome; Kahmann Gallery, Amsterdam; Galerie Simon Blais, Montreal; Barbara Frigerio Contemporary Art, Milan; Clair Galerie, Munich; and Ingrid Deuss Gallery, Belgium who honored Color Masters with 274 coveted title awards in 18 categories.

“It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 7,416 entries we received this year,” said Basil O’Brien, the awards Creative Director. “Zel Brook’s “Carrots,” an exceptional image entered in the Food category, represents contemporary color photography at its finest, and we’re pleased to present her with the title of Nominee.”

The nominees issue will be released in July. INTERNATIONAL COLOR AWARDS, PHOTOGRAPHY MASTERS CUP is the leading international award honoring excellence in color photography. This celebrated event shines a spotlight on the best professional and amateur photographers worldwide and honors the finest images with the highest achievements in color photography.

Exhibition News for April 2014

I am very excited. I recently received word letting me know that pieces from my Barn Roof Collage photography series have been juried into both the Danforth Art Community of Artists Exhibit in Framingham, MA and the Cambridge Art Association 13th National Prize Show in Cambridge, MA. The Danforth show runs from June 7th until August 3, 2014 and the Cambridge show runs from May 13 to June 26, 2014.
