Washington Art Shows

March 9 – May 29 2023 at the Seattle Art Museum is the IKAT: A WORLD OF COMPELLING CLOTH exhibit of outstanding textile work done by residents from12 Indonesian Islands. If you go, be sure to look at the video that shows the making of the fibers for weaving and the dying techniques. There is a display where you are encouraged to hold and examine these in your own hands to see how they are made. Video of the artists rapidly weaving intricate patterns are also evident.

Tacoma Art Museum – Northwest artists are featured, especially women are on exhibit. Membership cards have Sherry Markovitz’s intricate bead work on the front!
